SMOKE FROM THE SHRINE

Looking up for the light through our paths, our hearts shivers at the feel of distrust and betrayal - our lights burn out.
We pray, we hope, we believe; but the horrible dream of spitted blood splashes on the brittleness of our minds and wakes us up from our waterbed with our cheeks watered as our eyes downpour salty tings of streams getting our pillows wet, causing us to pull off our pajamas and drawn in our own sweats and tears while our hearts quake.
Those who can sing should sing it aloud, those who can write should write excessively, those who can preach should preach without missing words and those who can blog should share on every medium.
Everybody should be awoken to the truth! If they are not worthy of trust, they cannot stay at the helm. Sometimes we seldom think they don’t matter in as much as we can put food on our table; well they do! They really do matter!
It cost us pain standing under that unsympathetic sun, it cost our time, our businesses shutdown and our movements restricted all in the name of naming the people we think are fit to wear the crown; not knowing their black mission is to stab us from behind. They are nothing but failures and worst of all, headed by a carcass – more or less.
You may wonder; what smoke popping from which shrine; well “it is only a fool that goes to bed when his house is on fire”. Our house is on fire and - the smoke is taking over oxygen and some, who were unfortunate, are already frozen in death and decaying in their graves for our inability to stand up - and we are no fools! My baby-girl has a life ahead and a career of hers to choose and meet up to her purpose; not to be tied down by an old-bar-headed-he-goat in the name of child marriage!
Bomb explosions rocking our dear nation almost on daily basis, roasting humans like animals. Corruption is the song on everybody’s lips. We can no longer go to bed with our two eyes closed. The future is ours to take. And we must take it today! The time to stand up is now!
Let us contribute our individual efforts as Nigerians in saving this country before it finally crashes into grain. Let us join hands. Let us pray. Let us stop talking negative about this country and rather work together to improve our every system – from governance to individual activities.
Sooner or later, if we fail to contribute our support to take this country from the hands of terrorist and other negative forces that bring us tears rather than joy, iron and blood may force us toward the hard productive way. “I pray it shouldn’t get to that point.”
